Florio, I was struck by your artist's statement that appeared on the homepage, and went to take a look at your artwork. I find your materials unusual and probably quite difficult to use (I imagine it's not easy to control molten metals) but you manage well to come up with interesting works. Is there a reason for your choice of materials? It seems there's quite a bit of process involved before you decide a piece is completed. Do you start off with an initial idea, or do you allow your use, and the material, to determine the end product?
Another reason I find them difficult to use is that each element is visually very strong in itself - in this case silver coloured metal, deep red and blacks - not easy to hold together in a consistent statement. Yet you seem quite at ease with exploring, and resolving what could be conflicting energies. Good work.
Personally, based on what you've posted here, it would be nice to see some three-dimensional standalone works, and drawings (if you do that kind of thing).
