I really like your paintings. They have a kind of gravitas. Where do get your ideas from? There seems to be some kind of theme yet I can't put my finger on it. Do you work from life or are these imaganitive works? I really think you're going somewhere and I'm very interested in your work. Please respond.

Albert this is a truly amusing picture. There's not enough humour in art, it's all so serious, so I thank you for this. You couldn't have done better than to parody Wyeth's famous work, the difference of course being that your's is an open and good spirited celebration of your own sexuality. While Wyeth's is a real good look at hypocritical Middle America, disavowing anything sexual yet completely obsessed by it. Wyeth's painting to me is a study of repressed sadomasochism and truly perverse and chilling.
There's nothing crude about your work Albert, you're a very sophisticated painter.
By the way, if you haven't already, check out the work of Richard Lindner, a painter you don't hear much about lately. He died in 1978. Born in Germany he brought with him to America that whole Berlin decadence thing and applied it to New York. He created some beautiful and I think humourous imagery. I just think there's some kind of connection.

Pity this guy never got to speak here. I think it's super cool work. Check out his site - 'Art for Beautiful People'.
Although I've never been to North America, I get the impression this could only come from there, and NY in particular.
Unfortunately, I've also got the feeling, like with others in the past, he'll be asking me to remove his works from art process soon as his new dealer wants strict control over the images.
Anyway, getting an agent is always great news, so enjoy his stuff here while it lasts.
Bravo Crudo!

This is a really great one and I say that as a long time Crudo admirer.
So what's the deal Albert, did you get yourself a hotshot NY dealer as John-Paul seems to say... if so congrats! Tell me about it, you can e-mail me.
JP, I'm confused (nothing new, right?) but I thought you'd done some traveling in the States, something about some young lady and your introduction to Guston's work... did I misread something?

Well yes years ago, on a few occasions I did want to go to the US - only the americans have different ideas, and each time refused my application for a holiday visa... something about not wanting any bum artists in their wonderful country.
